Black secret door
Copperclad completed architectural metalwork to both the front and rear of this refurbished property, including wall cladding, fascias, window surrounds, cappings and bespoke ventilation details.
A key feature was a concealed access door to the garage. The original garage door was removed as part of the redesign, while access was still required for bikes and storage. A new side door was therefore clad to visually disappear into the surrounding façade.
The standing-seam layout had to continue accurately across the door and adjoining wall while still allowing the door to operate correctly. The five-point locking mechanism and hinges had to be individually accommodated within the cladding while maintaining weather protection around the opening.
Copperclad also clad a large outdoor barbecue extractor and fabricated a bespoke chimney-style vent above it.
